Ahoy Mateys! I am finally sharing our stay at the Fulton Steamboat Inn with you! We recently traveled to Lancaster, PA, and stayed at this hotel, and had a wonderful time! Let me get right into our experience!
Arrival and Check-In
We arrived at the hotel at around 6 pm, we probably would have gotten there a bit sooner but traffic from Long Island was pretty bad. It took us around 3.5 hours even with traffic so it wasn’t too bad. Upon seeing the hotel I was so intrigued because it is literally in the shape of a steamboat! I later realized that the hotel is an ode to Robert Fulton who was born and raised in Lancaster, how cool is that?! We walked into the hotel and loved the old-world nautical decor. It took me back to a different time in a good way! Check-in was seamless and from the moment we stepped in the staff was INCREDIBLY helpful and sweet. After check-in, we headed to our room and rested up a bit before dinner.
Our Room
Our room had two double beds and it was just the perfect size for us! All of the rooms in the hotel have a nautical theme and I am here for it! The room had a huge window that overlooked a water fountain. We were even greeted with a beautiful welcome basket, I really love how it feels like you become family when you stay at the Fulton Steamboat Inn. Now onto explore the property before dinner.
The rooms are equipped with:
- 32″ Flat Panel LCD Television
- Refrigerator
- Microwave
- Blu-Ray DVD Player
- AM-FM clock radio
- Direct dial phone
- Hair dryers
- Irons and Ironing board
- Coffeemakers
- Fully ADA Accessible
The Property
As I had stated before the hotel is shaped like a steamboat with water surrounding most of it. There are areas around the koi pond and water fountain where you can sit and relax as well as a gazebo. J flocked to the well-maintained playground on the property and frolicked for quite some time on each day of our stay. I for one found myself around the pond/waterfall with a good book when I needed some time away. There is also an indoor heated pool and we spent a ton of time there as well!
Food
There are two options for food in the hotel. One is Huckleberrys Restaurant and the other is the less formal Huckleberrys Tavern. Both have the same menu but the ambiance differs greatly. We had the pleasure of dining at both the restaurant and tavern and loved our meals! Huckleberrys Restaurant gets quite busy so I would definitely call ahead to make a reservation. I also recommend visiting their website here to check their hours of operation. The meals are plentiful and Huckleberrys Restaurant even has live music on certain nights. We ate 5 out of 6 of our meals at the hotel and were so glad we did! Just take a look below at some of the dishes.
The property also has:
- The Emporium Gift Shoppe
- Adult Fitness Center
- Electronic Game Room
- Meeting and Banquet Facility
- Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access
- Coin-Operated Guest Laundry
- Elevator
Overall Thoughts
My family and I loved staying here. We loved the experience, food, and staff. It is close to many local attractions such as Dutch Wonderland, The Amish Village and Strasburg Railroad. My favorite part about our stay was how unique the hotel is. When I travel with my family I like to stay at places that provide unique experiences as opposed to your run of the mill places. Fulton Steamboat Inn did just that and more! I hope you check them out and if you do please do let me know how your stay was!

What an interesting theme hotel. Looks like a comfortable place to stay.
That is so cool that the hotel is in the shape of a steam boat. The room looked lovely and an indoor pool would keep my little one busy.
