Kisoro Sushi Asian Fusion – Restaurant Review – Carle Place, NY

My family and I had the pleasure of dining at Kisoro Sushi Asian Fusion located in Carle Place, NY a few days ago. The restaurant is very close to Roosevelt Field Mall and parking is abundant for a strip mall location. There were a few hits and misses, let’s get on with my honest thoughts on our experience.

Ambiance

When you enter the restaurant the ambiance is very nice, the lighting is dim and the decor is beautiful. Upon entering you have the sushi bar to your left and you can see all of the fresh fish displayed right in front of you. There are a few seats at the sushi bar if you want to be up close and personal to the sushi masters making your sushi.

The restaurant also offers alcoholic drinks and has one of my favorites, SAKE!

They also offer a private dining room for larger parties if you should need it. We arrived at around 7 pm on a Sunday and there were a few tables with customers, as time went by more people did come in. We were seated promptly and received a high chair as requested.

Food & Service

We looked over the menu and decided on ordering the Thai Basil Chicken and General Tso’s Chicken along with a few Strawberry & Banana Milkshakes. The service is a bit slow which was weird because there weren’t that many people for the waitresses to wait on at all. I mean asking for utensils or a napkin should not take 15 minutes. After placing our order we waited about 20 minutes for the food and drinks to arrive.

The food was absolutely amazing, perfectly spiced and cooked. The General Tso’s Chicken was perfectly fried and it definitely did not have that chewy and slimy weird texture you find at most Chinese restaurants. It was perfectly crisp and we loved it. The Thai Basil Chicken was certainly a winner as well, loaded with perfectly cooked chicken and vegetables with a slight kick in the sauce! Both dishes came with a side of fragrant jasmine rice. The milkshakes were not up to par and let’s just say we didn’t bother finishing them. Like I said the service is a bit slow but the food completely made up for it! There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that we will return to this gem of a restaurant! Next time around we will forgo ordering a milkshake and perhaps opt for sake and I will have to try out the sushi as well!

4/5 Stars- I took one star off for the delay in service and the horrid milkshakes.
