Effortless Transfers

Upon landing at Cancun airport, we embarked on a seamless 45-minute commute to our resort. Opting for a shuttle service proved to be the most efficient and safest choice, eliminating concerns about rental cars and taxis. Booking our shuttle in advance ensured a stress-free journey, allowing us to arrive at the resort without any hassles. Platinum Guest Extra Amenities

As Platinum guests, we were greeted with a myriad of extra amenities that added an extra layer of luxury to our stay. A blissful 45-minute spa session awaited us, promising relaxation and rejuvenation. The tranquil ambiance and expert massages left us in a state of utter bliss, a testament to the quality of service provided. Although the spa session was complimentary, we made sure to express our gratitude with a generous tip.

Additionally, access to an exclusive pool and personal cabana at the Private Platinum Pool heightened our indulgent experience. Reserving the cabana in advance allowed us to bask in the serenity of the pool area, enjoying refreshing beverages and soaking up the sun in our private oasis. With the added convenience of a personal concierge located in the Platinum lobby, every aspect of our stay was meticulously taken care of.

Room Service

Room service at the Grand Sunset Princess Platinum takes luxury and convenience to the next level. Available free exclusively for Platinum guests (please do tip the hard workers), this service allows you to savor gourmet meals and snacks from the comfort of your room. Whether you’re starting your day with a freshly brewed coffee and a decadent breakfast or winding down with a late-night treat, room service ensures every craving is met with elegance and ease. Perfect for those moments when you want to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings in complete privacy. We used room service quite a lot, especially after a long day at the beach or pool. It was a god send because we honestly did not feel like taking the trolley to the buffet at the main lobby!

 

Restaurants on the Property

The Grand Sunset Princess boasts an impressive array of 12 bars and restaurants, each offering a unique culinary experience. While we didn’t have the chance to explore all of them, our dining adventures were nothing short of delightful. Restaurants are shared between Riviera and Sunset sides. Platinum guests have access to a great morning buffet and a Gala Dinner as well!

There are two buffets at the main lobby one for Sunset Guests and one for Riviera Guests although I was able to access both with issue and there is one near the Platinum Lobby (accessible for Platinum Guests only, breakfast and lunch only). The buffets at Grand Sunset Princess Riviera Maya are a feast for the senses, offering an impressive array of international and local dishes to satisfy every palate. Start your day with fresh tropical fruits, made-to-order omelets, and pastries at breakfast. For lunch and dinner, indulge in a variety of options, from Mexican classics like tacos and tamales to global favorites, fresh seafood, and vibrant salads. With live cooking stations and desserts that are almost too beautiful to eat, the buffets deliver a dining experience that’s as diverse as it is delicious. The buffets have a variety of options for meat eaters and vegetarians.

From indulging in Teppanyaki and Sushi to savoring Italian delicacies, every meal was a culinary delight. The buffet, offering a rotating selection of international cuisine, emerged as a favorite for its convenience and diverse offerings. Whether we were craving Mexican flavors or Italian classics, the resort’s restaurants never failed to impress.

On-Site Resort Entertainment

One of the highlights of our stay was the plethora of on-site entertainment options available. There was never a dull moment at the resort, from nightly shows in the theater for families to daily pool parties. We immersed ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere, indulging in dance shows and sing-alongs under the starlit sky. My husband lived for the daily water polo games!

The resort’s fitness center provided the perfect opportunity to stay active, boasting state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. We seized the chance to work out amidst breathtaking surroundings, feeling invigorated and refreshed after each session. They also have a spa which I haven’t tried yet so check it out and let me know what you think!

 

 

Family Club

P.S. There is a whole section on the Riviera side with Princess Family club that includes, rooms, a small waterpark, a buffet and an ice cream station. This is only accessible to families staying in this section.  You can buy a day pass but we did not go so I can not comment on it. There is also a smaller Family Club on the Sunset and we did attend the foam party there which was a lot of fun but other than that we didn’t see any kids there during our stay which is probably because we went during low season.

Beach

The beach is a short walk from the Platinum area and there are trolleys that will bring you within steps of the beach all around the resort if your room is farther out. The beach can have some sargassum, but the staff does an amazing job cleaning it up every single day. We enjoyed the sun, sand and waves here each day for a few hours! There is a bar on site as well as a private area for Platinum guests which is roped off and waiters/waitresses do come around for drink orders.

Our stay at Grand Sunset Princess Platinum was nothing short of extraordinary. While the all-inclusive package offers convenience, we recommend conducting a cost analysis to determine the best option for your travel preferences.
